2023 AAHCM Abstract Submission Guidelines

 Speaker Sessions

Thank you for your interest in speaking at the AAHCM 2023 Annual Meeting! This year's meeting theme is "Shaping the Future of Home-Based Medicine". For consideration, please submit your proposal by the submission deadline, March 17, 2023. at 11:59 PM ET. Should your entry be selected, you will be required to pay the registration fees and present your session in-person at the AAHCM 2023 Annual Meeting. If selected, you will be notified by May 1, 2023.

  • Attach resume/CV or all presenters (only PDF files will be accepted)
  • Please note the following important details. If selected your draft presentations will be due to AAHCM for committee and staff review by September 15, 2023.
  • Following review feedback, final PowerPoint presentations will be due October 12, 2023 at the annual meeting.
  • AAHCM's CME application process and the conference development timeline require all speakers to adhere to these timelines.

By submitting the abstract, I confirm that if selected to present at the 2023 AAHCM Annual Meeting, I will submit my materials in accordance with AAHCM's conference materials' timeline, as outlined above.  

 

 

 Poster Submissions

Thank you for your interest in presenting a poster at the AAHCM 2023 Annual Meeting! This year's meeting theme is "Shaping the Future of Home-Based Medicine". For consideration, please submit your proposal by the submission deadline, May 1. 2023. at 11:59 PM ET. Should your entry be selected, you will be required to pay the registration fees and present your session in-person at the AAHCM 2023 Annual Meeting. If selected, you will be notified by May 22, 2023. Please note, the submitter will be considered the presenter at the annual meeting unless otherwise noted. Only one presenter per poster will be allowed during the poster presentation at the annual meeting.

CLINICAL ABSTRACT: FOCUSED ON PATIENT CASE STUDIES

  • Learning Objective(s): State up to two focused learning objectives, delineating what the attendee should take away from the case study. Objectives are action-oriented and should begin with words such as recognize, assess, treat, improve, distinguish or manage.
  • Case: Briefly summarize the case. Include history of present illness, key social history, past medical history, family history, and medications, pertinent physical exam findings, pertinent studies, and interventions. Highlight key elements from clinical course. Identify the members of the care team as well as the role each member played in the course.
  • Impact: Share what was learned from this case. What improvements were made in your program's clinical practice? How might others learn from the experience? Please tie the impact discussion back to the learning objectives.

CLINICAL ABSTRACT: FOCUSED ON PATIENT PRACTICE INNOVATIONS

  • Delineation of practice problem and objectives of the intervention: Consider including scope, duration and severity of problem.
  • Description of Intervention: Include organizational context: practice structure, patient population, goals for the program.
  • Measures of Success: Discuss qualitative or quantitative metrics used to evaluate program/intervention.
  • Findings to Date: Submission must have at least preliminary findings.
  • Dissemination: What can others take away for implementation to their practice or community?

RESEARCH ABSTRACT

  • Background: Describe the context of the study and state the study objectives or hypotheses.
  • Methods: Include a description of the study design, setting, population, measures, and analytic procedures.
  • Results: Describe the results in sufficient detail to support the conclusions. Abstracts that do not have actual results will not be considered.
  • Conclusions: State the implications of the findings for clinical practice, research, education, or policy.
