Megan Cohen comes to Degnon Associates with more than 30 years of strategic healthcare focused association management experience. As a seasoned executive, Megan has managed the operations of four multi-million-dollar healthcare related nonprofit organizations including the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR), National Association Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) The International Dyslexia Association (IDA) and the MedEvac Foundation International (MFI).   In her role as Executive Director, Megan was responsible for the daily management of the organization and the implementation of strategic initiatives to advance the organization’s mission. Megan also spent 15 years with the American Urological Association (AUA), most recently serving as associate executive director responsible for AUA’s Washington, D.C. office of government affairs, office of research, clinical guidelines department and practice management division.  An articulate and effective public speaker, Megan has excellent oral and written communication skills, and is accustomed to representing organizations in public outreach. She is a results-driven, well-organized professional known for visionary and analytical thinking.  

Megan Cohen currently serves as executive director of the American Academy of Home Care Medicine (AAHMC). As chief executive, Megan’s responsibilities include first and foremost, the oversight of AAHCM’s public policy work as well as development and stewardship of a strategic plan and setting a course for strong financial stability in the future.  Megan’s background in Health Policy, her lobbying work at CMS and her long-standing track record growing health care associations are a perfect match for AAHCM’s current needs.  Megan also serves as a senior executive for Degnon Associates providing strong leadership, executive oversight and strategic direction to other client organizations.   

Megan holds an MPA in Health Policy from the University of Baltimore and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania. Megan has also received her Certified Association Executive designation from the American Society of Association Executives.
